Introduction
Schools need to develop a balanced school curriculum so as to provide an all-round education for their students. Arts education is one of the five essential areas in the overall aim of education set out by the Education Commission: “To enable every person to attain all-round development in the domains of ethics, intellect, physique, social skills and aesthetics according to his/her own attributes so that he/she is capable of life-long learning, critical and exploratory thinking, innovating and adapting to change.”Furthermore, art education can promote the establishment of a healthy lifestyle among students and cultivate their interest and appreciation for artistic and physical activities.
The undergraduate program adeptly utilizes various resources for teaching, including musical theater, choir, orchestra, band, films, and popular music. Students engage in diverse learning modes, such as classroom performances and special research projects, to cater to their varied interests and needs. Additionally, students are taken beyond the classroom to attend suitable concerts, providing them with broader learning experiences.
